PROFESSIONAL SCIENTIFIC IMPACT & RESEARCH

For three decades as a cognitive scientist, I investigated fundamental structures of the human mind: how we make sense of the world, impose structure and construct meaning from incomplete information. These questions now inform my studio practice, where processes like repetition, variation, and material investigation explore similar themes of emergence, identity, and instability.

Individuation & Identity: Object segmentation; tracking identity through change.

Social Cognition: The nature and origins of morality & bigotry, group affiliation, and social safety.
